Ingredients ½ cup Bacon cut up

3 leafs of chard

1 tbs olive oil

½ cup red onion

4 cloves of garlic grated

½ cup raisins

½ cup of pecan nuts

1 tbsp lime juice

Salt

Pepper

Before you begin
  1. Cut up bacon into small chunks Tip: Cutting bacon is easy if you use scissors
  2. Peel and grate 4 cloves of garlic
  3. Wash and cut up all of the vegetables. Cut up onion into cubes. Cut up the stem of the chard leaf as well as a leaf part. Tip: Place cut up vegetables into separate bowls. The onion and chard leaf stem may be placed together since they will be cooked at the same time
Recipe Step 1: Sautee bacon, onion and chard leaf stems on a frying pan over medium heat

Step 2: Once the vegetables soften up (about 5 minutes) add raisins, pecan nuts, grated garlic, salt and pepper to taste

Step 3: Toss the mixture together and cook for a minute, then add cut up chard leafs and 1 tbsp of lime juice. Tip: Lime juice could either be freshly squeezed or from a bottle

Step 4: Cover the frying with a lead and leave to cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Step 5: Uncover and toss the mixture around, then remove from the stove.
